Welcome to our website

Southern Strings is a musical duo from Montgomery, Al., made up by Mike Manley on hammered dulcimer and occasionally the bodhran (Irish drum), and Joe Nave on guitar. We began playing together in late 1994. Being co-workers, and in the same profession, it was easy for us to find out about each other's musical interests. Since forming Southern Strings, we have played for departmental events, weddings, private dinners, festivals and other special occasions, such as holiday gatherings and parties. Our music repertoire consists of Celtic, folk, religious music, some classical, country and bluegrass. We have completed our first recording, called "Bridging the Gap", which is now available.
